Admissions

On November 1st 2016 OPJS became an academy as part of the Palladian Academy and, as such, became its own admission authority.  There is a consultation process currently taking place regarding the future admissions criteria for 2018-2019, however the documents below highlight the criteria that OPJS has followed for this academic year.  The criteria for the OPJS Admissions Policy for 2017-2018 is the same as the current 2016-2017 policy.  The BaNES website for Admissions can be followed by clicking this link: http://www.bathnes.gov.uk/services/schools-colleges-and-learning/admissions-schools

There is a separate, ‘in-year’ application process for applications for places to join the school in Years 4 to 6. This process also applies for applications to join the school in Year 3 if the application is made outside of the main Year 3 application process.

Parents are advised that they should read through the School Admissions Arrangements for the relevant school year (see below).

Parents should apply to the school directly, according to the procedure outlined in the Admissions Arrangements and using the Application form for In-year applications (see below). Applications can be made at any time in the year.

Date: Monday 13th November 2017

Dear Parent/Carer,

Academy Admissions 2019/20 – Consultation

As part of the Palladian Academy Trust, Oldfield Park Junior School is its own Admission Authority. We are now consulting on our proposed admission arrangements for the 2019/20 school year. This consultation will end at Noon on Monday 15th January 2018.

Following the consultation period the Governing Body will determine its admission arrangements by 28th February 2018 and these will then be published on the website by 15th March 2018. Once arrangements have been determined objections can be made to the Office of the School Adjudicator.

To respond to this consultation please send your comments by email to:

admissionsconsultation.opjs@gmail.com

To note, the only amendment made to the Admissions Arrangements for 2019/20 refer to a change in Planned Admission number (PAN). This has changed from 64 pupils to 60 pupils.

As ever, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries.

Kind regards,

Mr Dave Goucher

Headteacher
