Year 5 - Fiji and Tonga

Welcome to Year 5!

The Year 5 team (Mrs Van Roy, Mrs Green, Miss Butler, Hayley, Mrs Fortune) are really excited to be leading the children in their learning this year. We are looking forward to introducing the children to new topics and experiences as well as watching them continue on their OPJS journey.

This is our final week of Year 5, can you believe it? So, here is our last lot of home learning! We are only uploading the maths work this week, as we will be spending our time in school preparing for the next year, saying our goodbyes and having lots of fun!

Home Learning 6th July 2020 - 12th July 2020

This week is our science week so you can look forward to lots of investigative work!

If you are staying at home to learn this week, please ensure you follow the lessons in order and take photos which you can then send to us! If you are in school on Monday and Tuesday, you will complete lessons 1 and 2 with us, so will need to complete lessons 3, 4 and 5 at home from Wednesday. If you are in school on Wednesday and Thursday, you will need to complete lessons 1 and 2 on Monday and Tuesday before seeing us on Wednesday! You can then complete lesson 5 on Friday at home :-) I hope that all makes sense!

The next two weeks of learning will be based on Anglo-Saxon village life. We will be asking questions such as: What did your Anglo-Saxon village look like? What happened there? How did your person live? What sort of jobs did they have? What did they wear?

Please ensure you complete the maths and English tasks for week 2 and 3. As well as this, you can choose from a variety of foundation subjects - try to do at least 2 each week.

Home Learning 20th April 2020 - 3rd May 2020

Take One is back!!!

This term, the whole school will be following our Take One topic! We will be using a piece of art as stimulus and using this to inform our writing, art work and more!

For the first 2 weeks of this term, we will be exploring the National Gallery's Picture of the Month; it is called Lake Keitele which was painted whilst in isolation by Akseli Gallen-Kallela and depicts his view of a Finnish lake, offering a moment of calm. English:
