OPJS Safeguarding Policy

Back

Oldfield Park Junior School takes seriously its responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of the children and young people in its care.

“The welfare of the child is paramount.”

Children Act 1989

The Safeguarding Policy at OPJS has been designed to ensure the welfare and protection of any child under the care provided by Oldfield Park Junior School. It recognises that child protection can be a very difficult subject for workers to deal with to the extent that it is sometimes easier to close your eyes to what is happening or believe that it is somebody else’s problem to deal with.

Oldfield Park Junior School is committed to the belief that the welfare of the child is paramount and protecting children is everybody’s responsibility, therefore the aim is to provide guidelines and procedures that will enable all staff and volunteers to act appropriately to any concerns that arise in respect of a child.
